This annual tradition has evolved into a spectacular festivity, featuring concerts and parties throughout the city. Each year, a carefully chosen theme serves as the common thread, unifying and enhancing the experience of all the events.
WHO WILL BE THE STAR OF NEW YEAR’S EVE IN CAGLIARI 2025?
For New Year’s Eve Cagliari there will be an international artist: Stewart Copeland together with his 29-piece orchestra.
Some of the main events scheduled between December and January.
On New Year’s Eve, Cagliari will host the famous Stewart Copeland, founder of The Police, with an extraordinary concert at Largo Carlo Felice accompanied by a 29-piece orchestra. The city will celebrate from 30 December to 1 January in four squares: Largo Carlo Felice, Piazza San Giacomo, Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Santa Croce.
Programme:
- 30 December: The Nonis Swing Quartet will perform in Piazza Garibaldi at 6.30 pm.
- 31 December:
Largo Carlo Felice: live concert by Stewart Copeland ‘Police Deranged for Orchestra’ (10.30 pm), DJ set by Andrea Massidda and Pablo Sole (00.20 pm).
Piazza Santa Croce: Smash Hits! (22:30), dj set by Zimbra (00:20).
Piazza San Giacomo: Mr Fantasy (22:30), dj set by Michele Sun (00:20).
Piazza Garibaldi: The Highwayman Band (22:30), dj set by Bettosun (00:20).
The format of the evenings is identical in all squares: diffuse music (21:00), live (22:30), countdown and toast (23:55), live closing (00:15), dj set (00:20), conclusion (1:30).
- 1 January: Anima e Cuore puppet show by Is Mascareddas in Piazza Garibaldi at 17:00.
Christmas markets
Traditional Christmas markets will be present in Cagliari throughout December until Epiphany. Approximately 40 wooden stalls where you can purchase handmade products, gift ideas, decorations, and taste excellent flavors typical of this season. The markets will be located between Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Piazza Yenne and will feature entertainment with jugglers, street artists, choir performances, and much more!
