Covid-19 Testing Center Sardinia: where to take an antigen or PCR Test

Covid-19 Testing Centers Sardinia: the list of labs and farmacies where to carry out the antigen or molecular swab from north to south Sardinia.

Summer 2021 is characterized by a series of regulations, provisions, corrections and updates underway by our political leaders in order to contain the Coronavirus epidemic. Although some provisions have already entered into force such as the Italian Green Pass (EU Digital Covid Certificate), we all know how antigen or PCR tests are a fundamental part of our life – as an alternative to vaccination – to access events, public places and above all for our travels.

Travelers are asked for an antigen or PCR swab as a pass for those who are not vaccinated or recovered from the Covid-19. In addition, some nations – regardless of vaccination – require Covid-19 testing before entering their country after spending a holiday abroad.

In this interlace of rules we try to give some useful information to those who – are already in Sardinia or are about to spend their holidays in Sardinia and need to carry out the antigen or PCR Covid-19 test.

The total lack of information has created many problems for travelers who often find themselves spending several hours searching for official sources and reliable news, not easy to find given the speed in which the provisions change.

Useful Info: What to do to enter Sardinia?

Based on the current situation

The Sardinia entry requirements are – currently – the same for the rest of Italy. They are evaluated based on the evolution of the pandemic situation, for this reason it is good to keep yourself informed about the changes regarding the required regulations.

We have created a page dedicated to the provisions required for travel to Sardinia, updated to the current situation.

Italian Green Pass (EU Digital Covid Certificate)

The European Digital Covid Certificate – officially entered into application on 1st July 2021 – allows freedom of travel within 27 countries of the European Union plus Iceland, Liechteinstein and Norway to those who meet these 3 requirements:

  • been vaccinated against COVID-19
  • recovered from COVID-19
  • received a negative test result

The Green Pass is also necessary in Italy to participate to events, shows, concerts, parties and for consuming at the table indoor venues such as bars and restaurants. It is also required by swimming pools, gyms, spas, theme parks.

How do the EU Digital Covid-Certificate works?

The Certificate is issued by the authorized centers where the vaccine is carried out, by the health authority that certifies recovery from the Sars-Cov2 virus or by the TESTING center where an antigen or PCR swab is carried out. Through your phone you receive a QR code that contains all the essential information and authenticates the certificate through a digital signature. Alternatively, it is also available in paper format.

Can anyone who is not vaccinated get the Certificate?

Yes, because the Green Pass attests one of three conditions: being vaccinated, being recovered or having a negative result from a covid-19 test. In this last case it must contain the type of test, date and time, test location and result.

What kind of Covid-19 tests are accepted?

Both molecular PCR tests and rapid antigen tests are allowed. However, it is up to each State to decide whether to accept only one or both. The test must be carried out within 48 hours before departure.

Covid-19 Antigen or PCR molecular tests?

As we already know, for those who are not vaccinated or immunized, it is necessary to carry out the antigen or molecular PCR covid test. If you are in Sardinia and you need to return to a country of the European Union or another State that requires the test before departure, we give you a list of the laboratories where you can take it. Currently, for entry into Italy, antigen tests carried out within 48 hours before departure are accepted.

Where to do the antigen or the PCR test in Sardinia?

The Region of Sardinia has given the green light to carry out rapid antigen tests also in pharmacies, in order to simplify the procedure for obtaining the Green Pass. In addition to the pharmacies you can also go to the many authorized labs where you can carry out swabs for Covid-19.

The rapid-antigen swab is used for the search for the SARS virus -COV2.⁣⁣ Following the carrying out of the test, the certification will be left and will be valid for 48 hours from the execution of the test. ⁣⁣The certification is necessary for the issue of the Green Pass (EU-Digital Covid Certificate) aimed at facilitating the free and safe travels of citizens in the European Union.
